Silver Birch Haven Eligibility and Application: Heartland Housing Foundation

Eligibility

To be eligible for Silver Birch Haven living you must meet the following criteria:

65 years of age or older
Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant (Lodge Assistance Program applicants only)
Functionally independent OR Functionally independent with assistance of community based services
- Functional independence is defined as physically, mentally and emotionally able to look after their own personal needs and be able to interact socially with other residents and includes:
  - Maintaining appropriate personal hygiene
  - Getting from their room to the Dining Room for meals
  - Ability to maintain their room in a tidy condition
Any applicants currently listed on the Government of Alberta’s high-risk offender list will be ineligible for housing at any HHF facility

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The interview will determine the suitability of the applicant for accommodation. Heartland Housing Foundation's acceptance of an application does not guarantee accommodation. A medical assessment may be requested after the interview at the manager's discretion.
Once a unit is offered to an applicant, the applicant will agree to accept the unit when it becomes available. The individual will be responsible to pay rent once the unit is available.
Applicants whose application is not accepted after an interview will not be eligible for reapplication.
