Located in Josephburg, a hamlet with a population of just over 200, Homestead Place opened in 1982. This 8 unit apartment services the needs of rural seniors from Strathcona County and Fort Saskatchewan area. The Province owns this project with Heartland Housing Foundation managing the facility on the Province's behalf. Residents require an automobile to get to required services, as no public transportation or local services are available. Each apartment is 520 square feet.

Renters Insurance

Heartland Housing Foundation requires all renters to have personal property coverage and general liability insurance with a coverage amount of at least $1 million.

Apartment Cost

A resident's monthly rent is based on 30% of the resident's gross monthly income and is reviewed and adjusted annually.

 

For Example: 

Annual Income = $16,000

Monthly Income = $1,333

30% Monthly Rent = $400
